For the eMule tests what I'd like is spot checks that you can identify these decoys hitting on each of these servers (just test 1 track that you've found we seem to hit well on generally on eMule, no need for it to be any particular track, and no need for it to be either a single or non-single; I'm just curious for a spot check on all these servers).

In addition to this per server spot check, please test the 2 non-singles + 2 singles from each of the 2 albums (so 8 tracks are being tested in total) on servers from a couple different ranges. For example, test the 8 tracks pretty thoroughly on one of the 80.239.200.x servers and on one of the 83.149.x.x servers. Particularly what I'm interested in is whether you can identify any propagation that may have occurred (all the IPs Ty is using for this, I believe, are in the 66.135.x.x range) and whether we look good on any big name servers from this list Ty is using (e.g., Donkey Server, Big Bang).

Let me know if anything I've said is unclear....

Thanks,
Ben

New Ticket: FW: eMule real decoys from dedicated servers

QA,

Ty started decoying the chopped and screwed decoys Rendy made for Kanye West and 50 Cent Friday on both Ares and eMule. He should be getting back to me soon about which eMule servers his decoys would be appearing on. Please run normal effectiveness tests for Ares and eMule for 50 Cent and Kanye West and report back to qa_at_mediadefender.com with your results.

You can get to this any time this week. Keep in mind that these files are NOT padded to mod 137 and the noise, scratch, pop, skipping, etc. effects that Rendy added typically appear AFTER 45 seconds into the song. So, these titles will have to go through full download tests, including reviewing the files manually. Try testing 2 singles from each album + 2 non-singles from each album.

Jay and Ty CCed on ticket.

Thanks,
Ben

Subject: Re: eMule real decoys from dedicated servers

I deployed the 50 Cent and Kanye West files on Ares and eMule last
friday. They work fine for emule, but not so great on Ares because
they are missing most of the ID3 tags (like artist and album). What
this means is that while I am pushing them on Ares, they don't show
up very well and they don't get re-shared at all.

I'd like to fix this problem at the source since I imagine it affects
more than just Ares, but if that isn't possible I can rebuild the
mp3s to have some kind of metadata that I parse from the file name or
something... (not so great). Due to the amount of work and other
complications It'd just be so much easier to fix the originals and
future decoys to include all of the following ID3 tags: artist,
album, title, genre, track number, bitrate, and media length. I may
be forgetting a few tags.

Let me know what I should do ASAP.

Ty
