Updated with the revisions in red. The Maroon 5 questionable file that
does not play in WMP is attached. It does play in iTunes and Winamp.

6-1-07 (week 1):

1) Ares, Pussycat Dolls - Don't Cha, 7 Pirated of 45.

* Two different versions, one with features Busta Rhymes (4) and
the other doesn't (3)
* The album version is without Busta Rhymes. The "radio edit"
single is with Busta Rhymes.
* Below is an excerpt from Wikipedia:

The Dolls' single version (the 'radio edit') added a rap by Busta Rhymes
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Busta_Rhymes> and became a number-one hit
in the United Kingdom <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Kingdom> ,
Australia <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australia> , Canada
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canada> , Germany
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Germany> and New Zealand
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Zealand> and a number two hit in the
United States <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States> .

6-8-07 (week 2):

2) LimeWire, Maroon 5 - Makes Me Wonder, 6 Pirated of 45.

* File named "S03__Maroon 5 - Makes Me Wonder (1).mp3" does not
play in Windows Media Player.

6-15-07 (week 3):

3) SoulSeek, Daddy Yankee - Impacto, 8 Pirated of 45

* Two different versions, one with solo (3) and the other/remix
featuring Fergie (5)

6-22-07 (week 4):

4) Limewire, Queens of the Stone Age - Sick, Sick, Sick, 6 pirated

* They used the string "Queens of the sick sick sick" instead of
the full Artist name: "Queens of the stone age". The SLA says an audio
file search should be in the form (artist name, one space, track title).
The string they should've used "queens of the stone age sick" fits in
Limewire
* They only attempted 15 DL for this track

5) Limewire, Paul McCartney - Dance Tonight, 5 pirated

* Only attempted 17 DLs

6) Piolet, The Police - Walking on The Moon, 6 pirated

* Only attempted 27 DLs

Here are the questionable tests we may get credit for. Some of them are
easier sells than others.

#1 and #3 below rely on the same premise...that they shouldn't test us
on 2 different versions of a song in 1 test. I'm not sure if that's been
discussed...but it's not in the SLA.

6-1-07 (week 1):

1) Ares, Pussycat Dolls - Don't Cha, 7 Pirated of 45.

* Two different versions, one with features Busta Rhymes (4) and
the other doesn't (3)

6-8-07 (week 2):

2) LimeWire, Maroon 5 - Makes Me Wonder, 6 Pirated of 45.

* File named "S02__Maroon 5 - Makes Me Wonder(1).mp3" has
questionable quality. It sounds like it is a bad quality live recording
with cheering at the start and ending.

The string they should've used "queens of the stone sick" fits in

5) Limewire, Paul McCartney - Dance Tonight, 5 pirated

* Only attempted 17 DLs

6) Piolet, The Police - Walking on The Moon, 6 pirated

* Only attempted 27 DLs

We still may ask for credit on the ones with less than 45 tests.

In that case, their less than 45 attempt results are legit.

Heres the chart:

"Download Attempts Made" "Fail if Pirate Count is"

40 5

35 5

30 5

25 4

20 4

15 3

10 3

We'll have a report on Monday letting you know if we found enough errors
to bring us to the 20% threshold.

Tabish

They might be working under the new terms of our sla testing where they
can test less than 45. There should be chart in the new contract that
says how many fails for a certain number of tests count as a fail.
Please look at.

We noticed that...however we assumed they were counting # queued instead
of attempted.

But yeah, that's a possible credit as well. There might be more once we
verify the files.

One more error from their piolet test - The Police, they only attempted
27 DLs.

We can get credit for 2 of the fails from this week.

For 2 of the Limewire fails, they only attempted 15 and 17 DLs. For the
test to count, they must attempt 45. For 1 of them, "Queens of the Stone
Age", they didn't use a full artist name either.

Assuming we get credit for that, it brings our total fails for the month
to 36 (25% credit threshold). We need 1 more pass to get us down in the
20% range. We'll scrub the files from this week and I'll send out a
summary report on Monday on which errors we found.
