I return 0 if it ends correctly, 1 if it times out from lack of data,
and 2 if it times out b/c it can't get hosts.

I was figuring you wanted 0 for yay and !0 for boo.

Although I tweaked it a bit just now ... Keeping the System.exit()
functions all under one global func
