See below. Neil - no need for IFPI/UMGI to worry about taking down our decoys down. We repost as real supply hits the sites we're on. If everything is taken off all the sites, we're just as effective as if only our decoys are up on the sites.

Subject: UMGI decoy torrents

Hi guys,

Just had a call with Mark Denby (from UMGI). The IFPI have been in contact with him about identifying our decoys we use for protection on BitTorrent. They are concerned that they are wasting their resources and sending C&Ds for our decoy torrents. Furthermore, they are concerned that they are pulling our decoys from services where they have the ability to remove torrents without sending a C&D (like torentspy).

Is this something we can do without disclosing too much about our protection techniques? If we don’t currently protect on BT for UMGI this might be a good vehicle to get them into a new contract.
