Jonathan,

We might be able to track the stop time crack in our gnutella marketing intel system, which would let us see supply IPs. I don't think it matters where the IPs come from (meaning supply or demand). The problem with telling microsoft where this came from is it WON'T be the same # of IPs as they've been getting from you from Rick. The market intel system acts as supernodes and is connected to 10,000 hosts while Ivan's legacy gnutella data collection connects as a leaf -- I don't think it's helpful to go into this level of detail, but it's your call.

-Ben

Yes...geographic downloads.

Waiting for them to supply us with an .exe would not work...they would take to long to get us that. We can't make one up?...we know the file sizes...

Easiest if they provide the exe files to decoy. Then we could count.

We don't have any particular garbage exe to decoy, so as soon as that's decided/provided we'd start decoying next day. What info would they want? Just a list of geographic downloads (similar to what I've provided you for Activision)?

Yes. Not regularly. How long would it take to get this setup?

We can do this on Gnutella and Fasttrack. What's the purpose? We wouldn't do this regularly, as it's lots of extra work.

Msft is interesting in looking at geo-location IP stuff on some of their cracks. I know we used to be able to give this kind of data because we were decoying a lot moreā€¦and we did it for them during the XP trial we had last year.

Is it completely impossible now? Can we have decoys set up for the vista crack projects and log IPs?
