Thanks Ty. Makes sense. I guess we'll just eat a few bad results when
they upgrade.

We are seeing lower Ares effectiveness compared to a few weeks ago, as
more people are upgrading....as you expected. I assumed they'll be
upgrading soon based on the fact that they're still using 1.9.1 and
they're due for an upgrade...don't have any evidence.

Good to know it'll only take a week and not like a month for us to get
the IPs rotated. Just FYI, that will cause at least 2 bad weeks for us
because by the time they send us their results (and we realize they
upgraded), they would've already started on the next week's tests.

Here are my thoughts on that.

A new version of Ares is released every 1-3 weeks. That version will
contain our current IPs. There is always a chance AM will upgrade,
because there is always a new version out. And when they do, there is
an extremely high chance their new version will contain our current IPs,
even if we rotate them right now based on the assumption that they
should be upgrading soon.

Do you have any evidence to suggest they are about to upgrade? If not,
then I think we should only rotate based on network penetration of the
newer versions and our overall effectiveness on the version they are
actually using to test. We will probably eat a bad week when they do
upgrade, but even if we rotated every 2-3 weeks it probably wouldn't
change that too much. If IPs weren't so valuable then I would be for
rotating them all the time.

Ty,

Just wanted to make sure my comment below regarding the IP rotation for
Ares didn't get lost in the email.

AM should be upgrading very shortly to the latest version of Ares. Would
we be prepared for that?

5 fails.

2 close fails w/ 6 real for Mika - Grace Kelly on Ares and Limewire.

2 fails on eMule. 1 of them was on our server. We were having issues
last week of our servers sometimes not hitting.

1 fail on Ares for Daddy Yankee - Rompe because it's a popular PM2
project.

Ty, should we look into rotating our IPs for the new version of Ares? AM
is still using v1.9.1 and I'm expecting them to upgrade in the very near
future. If they upgrade, they'll upgrade to the latest version, 2.0.9,
where we don't hit.
