I would like to know if there were any false positives going into our fox meeting tomorrow if possible.

More than half of the failures came on new sites, and those were mostly older projects that had not been updated to the new site list. The older sites we had the most problems with were Mininova, which is expected, and torrentreactor where the sorting is by date and there is a spider posting real torrents with dates a month in advance. We are working on duplicating this with our own posts. Additionally, Dan noticed it didn’t seem like they were sorting by seeds anyway since we were effective by seeds on torrentportal, but, in the default sorting we were much less effective. Bay TSP is uploading files to the FTP right now so hopefully today we’ll be able to verify if some of their downloads are, in fact, our decoys. On the positive side development has been going well adding new sites to the autoposter, we have 4 new sites up and running and more on the way. It will still take some time to expand to all the new sites and catch up on posting to older projects for FOX as we have been concentrating mostly on the new movies. Niles, Gerald, and Rendy have been actively testing our methods on the new sites and will be adding their recommendations to the system.

Here are our results for the Fox testing. We had one bad fail on eMule with 14 real coming in. It would help if they could include the server and IP they tested us on. For Ares, they were able to get around 5 real files for two of the projects.

The majority of our bad fails came from Bittorrent. We had low effectiveness on BTMon, Mininova and TorrentReactor for “The Simpsons” in our internal tests, so real files coming from those sites were expected. However, we were 100% effective on Bitenova and TorrentPortal both this week and last week in our internal tests—they were able to get 2 and 4 real files, respectively. We’ll run some tests today to see if we can determine how they are selecting files to download.

Around 75% of the real files they downloaded came from when they used Azureus or BitComet. The most real files came from the following sites: BTMon(15), Fenopy(13), Mininova(12), TorrentPortal(12). Below, is a breakdown of the Bittorrent results.

Also, we are still waiting on BayTSP to upload their files to our FTP. The latest results we have are from July 2nd. Even getting the torrent files they used would help greatly in determining how accurate their results are.

Fox results have been uploaded to: \\mdfile01\public\QA\Fox\2007_Aug_14 <file:///\\mdfile01\public\QA\Fox\2007_Aug_14> .
