These days, almost every p2p client can download torrents. However, none of them actually act as sources for a torrent unless they downloaded the file via bittorrent. If you take a file native to shareaza and make a torrent for it, it'll have zero sources on shareaza because none of the clients know they are a source. They aren't going to connect to a tracker, nor are they going to try to share those files via bittorrent to boost any seed/peer. What I'm saying is that you may as well spoof random IPs via dht or a custom tracker because any infohash made from a native shareaza file has no significance to them.

I am talking about posting torrents w the real file infohash and a fake name. Eg, take an old movie on shareaza like superman and post that file with the name die hard 4

The real clients wouldn't know the infohash of our torrent, so they'd have no way of responding to a request for our infohash.

I don't follow. Can't we put them as sources in the torrent with our tracker or dht?

But none of the real shareaza clients will be in the torrent.

Since shareaza can be used as a bit torrent client, was wondering if we could take files already on shareaza and post them as bit torrent decoys. The idea would to take a file on shareaze with a lot of sources and post it to a bt site as a new movie, album, etc name.

Alternatively, maybe we could post bt decoys using shareaza, and promote spreading of the file with our shareaza decoying. We could increase seeds without using our own IP addresses.

I welcome any other ideas. Are there other p2p programs that have a bit torrent feature in them? I know morpheus used to.
