Ivan and Ty,

I forgot what the resource limiter is on BT interdiction that makes 1000 torrents the sweet spot. Can that be scaled up? If so, what do we need more of?

Thanks,
Ben

We're downloading the files from the FTP right now. We'll have the hashes for you on Monday.

As for interdiction, auto-interdiction is currently off. Interdiction is currently protecting the major Fox titles as well as select UPics torrents only. With those projects alone, we're at around ~1000 unique torrents, which is close to the point at which interdiction stops being as effective.

The search string "m.i.a." does seem like it would cause a lot of problems with the autoposter though. I'll talk with Jed and Gerald and see if they can help spot anything.

Dan,

What are the info hashes for the .torrents they put on our ftp?

Were these torrents in interdiction? If not, work with Jed to figure out why. Jay thinks the keyword "m.I.a." just makes the parsing that much more difficult.

Thanks,
Ben

Below is a breakdown of the results. We had a total of 9 fails this week.

Ares – 3 fails out of 5 attempts

The fails on Ares were expected as we were still seeing some fails in our internal results. We’ve been providing Ty with daily updates on the status of Ares and he’s been working to increase our effectiveness.

BitTorrent – 1 fail out of 1 attempt

Audible Magic tested M.I.A. – Kala for their BT test. They had 12 pirated files and 1 other.

DirectConnect – 4 fails out of 4 attempts

Audible Magic attempted to run 6 total tests on DirectConnect. Two tests did not have enough results to be counted.

eMule – 1 fail out of 5 attempts

Four out the five eMule tests were done on our servers. The total number of our servers dropped from 80 to 43. Most of the servers in the 198.78.188.* block have been unstable causing some of them to drop out of the server list. We’ll work with Dylan to determine why there was such a big drop off in servers this week vs. last week.
